There’s just something special about getting in the kitchen and making treats with the kids. We make a lot of cookies but the kids also love makingChex Mix Christmas treats.

They’re a take on the more traditional cereal treats. I love the extra bit of crunch you get when you use Chex cereal instead.

My kids love to help stir everything together. If you are getting the kids into the kitchen with you, be sure to supervise them when you’re working with the hot marshmallow mixture and the melted chocolate. Otherwise, this is a great recipe for the whole family to help make.

Even the youngest can help decorate with sprinkles!

HOW TO MAKE HOLIDAY CHEX MIX TREATS

These white chocolate Chex mix bars follow a recipe you might be familiar with if you’ve made cereal treats in the past. The ingredient list is simple and the steps are so easy.

The recipe is also very versatile. You can switch up the kind of cereal you use and the sprinkles! If you want to get fancy you could use colored candy melts instead of white chocolate chips for your drizzle! These Chex treats would look adorable with red or green drizzle or even both! Now I want to make a batch with red, green, and white!

CHEX MIX CHRISTMAS TREATS FAQ

CAN I SUBSTITUTE MARGARINE FOR BUTTER?

Yes, you can substitute margarine, light butter, or even whipped butter.

CAN I USE MARSHMALLOW FLUFF INSTEAD OF MINI MARSHMALLOWS?

Absolutely. You can use a 7.5 oz jar of Marshmallow Creme instead of the package of mini marshmallows. You will follow the same steps.

Melt the butter and then stir in the Marshmallow Fluff. Be sure to stir the mixture and watch to make sure that it doesn’t burn.

DO I HAVE TO USE A 9×13 BAKING DISH?

Nope! You can use any kind of dish that you want really. You just want to make sure that you spray it with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper so the Chex Mix Christmas treats don’t stick to the pan!

HOW LONG DO CHEX MIX TREATS LAST?

You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for two days. If you want to freeze the treats, they will be good for up to six weeks.

Be sure to put wax paper between the layers of treats when you freeze them so they don’t get stuck together. When you remove them from the freezer, let them thaw for 15 minutes so they’re room temperature.
