Who knows, maybe the ancient paradox legendary beasts will appear, and maybe it will turn out that someone mistook Gouging Fire for regular Entei when it came to identifying the six hero Pokemon.

That would be a nice way to get 2 flying-types with one rock-type move! Upcoming events Spring 2024 + Trailers etc (April 25 update) (2)

If we are talking promotion, it would be cool if they showed the rumoured "A" Pokemon from Z-A here. Even if the game isn't coming out until next year, they've done early promotion before.

How would they look for it if they know litterally nothing about it? Plus being vague and revealing gouging fire is a less interesting twist then the party thinking its Entei, only for it to be gouging fire.
Plus If Lucius saw it without knowing the Paradox Pokemon even exist, he would probably assume its just a weird Entei.

Here's the thing we have both had the current OP visuals and magazines anime articles show Entei along the other Hero Pokémon so I can't imagine at this time their going to when the time comes reveal it was actually Gouging Fire all along.

It is very common for shows to give information on a certain thing only to reveal it was something else all along as a type of twist.

Meh, they also showed Lapras being normal meanwhile the one we got was scarred and stuff lol. They can have it be something else.

Just pointing this out but that’s like comparing apples to oranges. In the case of Lapras while it is true that the opening and stuff before we actually saw it showed it as a normal Lapras while the one we got had a scarred on it at the end of the day it doesn’t change the fact that it was still a Lapras.

While in the case of Entei and Gourging Fire they are 2 different Pokémon that happen to look similar to each other.

So the Lapras argument doesn’t really work as that is a completely different situation.

It's entei in the opening because the RVT think its Entei. They aren't going to throw Gouging Fire into the OP only for the entire arc to end with them still not knowing its Gouging Fire

I’m curious how long this arc is gonna last honestly. It feels like such a drastic change of status quo for the show, but I’m not opposed to it at all. I almost wish they’d have just done the show this way in the first place, with a school centered story ala Yu-Gi-Oh GX like was already mentioned in this thread

I assume 20-25 episodes just like the first two did. Feels like plenty especially if theres less filler than episodes 26-45 had.

It seems pretty established as just a training arc thing, I really don't see it going longer than any of the other arcs.

I also don't expect it to be as MUCH of a training arc as some people are thinking. They won't go from their current state to beating E4 levels of strong, especially since that would probably require their pokemon fully evolving... in 20-25 episodes. I assume they will be able to hold their own against the explorers at least.

Week break after the Rayquaza episode by the way, It's on march 29th and this starts April 12th

Technically we don't really know that, Animedia said "TBA" for April 5th and as you can see from the translation, Corocoro doesn't list episode numbers, only titles and airdates. Me listing the April 12 episode as "PM2023 46" is ultimately just a guess.

Would be a little weird for it to skip an episode with the image poster page whatever thing but, fair enough anything is possible. I'm sure weirder has happened.

This is the first time Corocoro's upcoming episode presentation has listed anything other than the two next episodes to air.

Like what you are saying is the absolute safe way in not going for any unconfirmed conclusions as likely as they may be.

Which is highly respectable.

I've seen a lot of negative comments hating this school arc idea, saying the show is "revamping itself" and "losing its original purpose", which I don't really get? It's pretty evident that following a loss from Rayquaza, the kids are sent to learn about Terastalization for what is clearly a temporary arc. The show is not dropping the Lucius/Explorers plot nor is it completely ditching the Rising Volt Tacklers. It's completely okay for a series like this to shake things up a little bit, especially if it serves the characters and the narrative.

Not to mention, just because the kids are temporary exchange students now, doesn't mean they'll be stuck in one place, they can still travel and move around. It should be easy for them to meet up with the RVT since RVT will be sticking in Paldea anyway researching the secrets of Terapagos.

New visuals are like 99% likely, imo, but no idea whether they'll change up the song too...

I hope this is the case and not some meddling executives trying to get in the way of production like they always do.

That does make me wonder how long they are going to be at the academy, I'm thinking around 10 episodes.
