I'm conservative, but not necassarily right wing. I'm conservative on: gov. spending, gun control, marriage, abortion, low taxes, strong military. I'm more liberal on: Welfare (I don't agree with full blown univeral health care, but things like unemployment benefits I'm for usually.)
I'm for sound and efficent government with an emphasis on state rights and local autonomy.

@Jeff- I feel for ya!

I consider myself a moderate libertarian - not Ron Paul like, but generally I favor less government instead of more. Plus, I am strongly in favor of balancing the budget.

I'm an independent, and try to think of issues individually rather than as a political spectrum. On average, however, I am mostly a middle-of-the-road (not extreme, not moderate) conservative/libertarian, slightly more conservative than libertarian.

Why this place is so liberal: idiot liberals get ignored, while idiot conservatives get their heads bitten off by the idiot liberals and some of the smart liberals while the smart conservatives don't want to bother with the whole fiasco and don't post over here. This is how most political settings work, either this way or the other way around, and is why politics can get so polarizing.

I'm an anarchist at heart, but whenever I debate my argument will acknowledge the current situation. I guess you could say I'm a libertarian in practice, but I neither have nor want any affiliation with any organized political party.

I have noticed that there is a liberal majority here, but there still have been some good debates, namely on things that liberals don't necessarily agree on. The gun control debate was good for a little while until people started repeating the same things over and over (and over), and same with the capitol punishment thread.

I think the biggest problem with having a debate in this forum is that after a few pages are filled, a new person will come along and tl;dr the whole thing and just repeat what has been said already. I won't lie, I've been guilty of this as well.

I don't lean any which way. I just vote for whoever I like based off my impressions of them. I didn't like my impression of McCain. I sided Obama. To bad I lived in the Republican capitol of Washington.

I'm not sure I'd call myself anything particularly. As several others have said for themselves, my politcal slant is different for different issues depending on my own opinion on the subject at hand.

(But I'll never vote conservative Political Leanings of Bulbagarden as a whole (6) Just because I'm biased against the Tories like that!)

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that people under 30 (the demographic that dominates this board) are predominantly liberal or left-libertarian.

After Misty's post I had considered making the following post:

Cue bickering over "up-to-date" versus "hasty and premature" opinions.

Ultimately I decided against it. But apparently it would have been a good prediction.

Personally, I am a Democrat. If you read my most recent blog post, you would know about how much against No Child Left Behind I am. I have a similar perspective on a number of issues, such as the war in Iraq and .

However, I'm not really like some Democrats when it comes to guns. I love firing weaponry and I think that people should be allowed to own weapons. That being said, I recognize the importance of gun control and support measures to prevent certain people from obtaining them.

My dad's interesting though. He's a Democrat as well, but does support some policies of Republicans. I loved his assessment of himself: a "radical right Democrat."

I consider myself more moderate as my political leaning will change depending on the topic.

I am unabashedly left-wing, and I have many socialist tendencies to play in with that. But then according to Political Compass, I'm Economic Left (-5.00) and a Social Libertarian (-4.67). Perhaps what is surprising is that I feel that the strongest form of government would be anarchy in it's purest form; small self-regulated groups of people.

Is there such a thing as a social-anarchist? Cause I think I may be the first one.

There are many different types of anarchy. The two main groups of anarchist thought are social anarchists and market anarchists. Social obviously being collectivist, and market (or capitalist, or other things that people call it) are individualist.

Personally, I am strongly individualist. However, I understand that there is great value in working together in a society. It's kind of complicated what's going on in my head. People all have different goals and different ideas of what is right and wrong. I despise the idea of one person choosing a leader for another person. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

I'm a crazy Liberal that's from the SF Bay Area where a lot of the other crazy liberals are, but I'll let the crazy republican just talk and ignore (well, ignore is a bad word, I'll read until they start crazily ranting, but also won't instigate them if they are on the edge) them if I know they're a crazy republican. It's not won't the time if they don't consider reading what you say anyways.

I do admit that I like Debate, and I would want to hear a rational republican's arguments of being for something, but usually they seem to be too busy either spouting statements to either get ahead in their party or trying to manipulate others into agreeing with them for me to take seriously. Still, I understand why people are republicans, and I think they are important to the political system... I just that some people probably are republicans for the wrong reasons. (Reasons not related to politics)

Still, we definitely have more liberals than conservatives here, even with the closet conservatives. It seems to be that way on most popular, and anime related websites. And we do tend to attack them time to time, I can't blame them for snapping, gives the minority experience, at least for online. Political Leanings of Bulbagarden as a whole (11)

I can't stand the "I'm a democrat, and if you don't agree with me then you're a republican!" (and vice versa of course) mindset. There's really not much difference between democrats and republicans.

LOL. Based on what I've seen here. Cornicas is one of the more level headed Conservatives here. But the RW section is dominated by liberals. Pokecommunity is relatively balanced with my Net friend Aura teh Conservative. XD (I was trounced in the debate over Global warming here: US Elections 2008: Debate the Issues)

While Serebii's debate forum leans Conservative. (Seriously hawkish peoplez. Political Leanings of Bulbagarden as a whole (15))

But eh...It's just sad that the Republicans are in a "Wilderness stage" right now in terms of creating a National coalition. We need a strong opposition. I mean after 9/11 being called Liberal was a political suicide. Now it's accepted! Things will balance out...don't worry. ^_^

I'm Liberal though. Social Democrat to be frank in the US. XP

Well...not necessarily true. There are differences in Policy. See how much political change there has been recently?
But eh...Both are Coalitions esentially since the US doesn't have a multi-party system. The Greens and Libertarians are fringe minorities I'm afraid.

And busnisses weild a lot of clout due to lobbyng and campain contributions. So it soes seem the same due to the policies pushed forth by the private sector. ^_^

I am generally in the middle as far as politics go. I believe that governments are unnecessary and are just pretexts for human laziness, the not wanting to put ourselves on our own shoulders, although, I would not go so far as to say that I'm anarchist. (Anarchy is too violent of a word for my morals.) I think socialism is a weak attempt to change the nature of competition within the human mindset, and just as Marx predicted revolution, it never seemed to occur to him that socialism would die inevitably beforehand. Some may regard me as a radical, others, a democrat. The best way I could possibly decribe myself is as one of Humanism (Not the way in which Desiderius Erasmus used it, or so history says.): Someone that would work for the people while still placing himself above all others so as to not drown in my own philanthropic ways and descend below everyone else in society (as a lot of philanthropists pratice out of their means, bless their hearts); I believe that every being on this planet should be able to live their life without any kind of interference and thus knock on death's door with an obnoxious smile, saying "I'm dying :spam:." I definitely consider myself more of a philosopher than a politician, but would perhaps not make that bad of one either.

***

Anyway, I could write an entire thesis here if I wanted to on my political and moral leaning, but let's save that for my Master's Degree, shall we?
